Funerals

“Death ends a life, not a relationship.” Mitch Albom, Tuesdays With Morrie

altar-three-picMy deepest regards to you during this time of loss. The death of a child, an elder, or one in mid-life whether suddenly or after a long ailing journey involves each its own unique pain.

Rituals in the forms of funerals and memorials create a spaciousness that allow us to experience the opportunity that our beloved’s death presents us: to open our hearts to one another and thus into fuller, more authentic life. I have made myself available to officiate funerals as I see how crucial it is to honor the dead and witness the bereaved in that it is fundamental to the grieving process and ultimately to one’s personal health and wellness.

I am available for:
Private Committal Service
Graveside Service
Funeral
Memorial

Process:
We connect via phone/email/Skype and I gather initial information to be able to move forward. We then meet in person or via Skype for me to be with you and get acquainted with your relationship with the deceased, what preferences they may have declared as well as how you envision the service. I operate on a listening-based approach. Working with the information and vibration you share with me, I will create a Remembrance questionnaire for you and any other close family/friends of the deceased. I am open to helping you create rituals that express your relationship to the deceased and to the Sacred.

Through both meditation and rumination on your Remembrances, I will be able to compose a beautiful tribute to your loved one. You will have the opportunity to look at and offer any edits prior to the ceremony. My aim is to compassionately and accurately capture the spirit of the deceased and offer up a blessing that allows both the dead and the living to rest in peace.

Locations:
New York City
Northern California

Fees
Service is $300 -$600, depending on various factors including advance notice, size of gathering and intricacy.A deposit is due with the return of the questionnaire and payment in full on day of ceremony.

Memorial rituals serve to merge us with the greater reality of the Universe and to remind us of our oneness with the Creator. I am here, available to write and present the eulogy, and to help you create and hold the sacred space of this farewell gathering. Please contact me if it looks like I may be of service to you.
